Celendia is introduced as a kind soul- she saves Elk and Lieza when they pass out in the desert and brings them to a small 'base' near White House, the base of an unknown, unnamed Crusade. Though she treats her guests kindly at first, she soon reveals her true nature, and that she's in league with White House. She will do pretty much anything Clive tells her to because she's madly in love with him, but seemingly blind to the fact that he could care less about her. Her loyalty to Clive is eventually her downfall, as when the Ark opens she is the 'first to go to the world of utter darkness'.
