Fanlistings are what they sound like: lists of fans from all over who share the love for someone, something, an idea, person, food, whatever. The original idea, which is still thriving, is to make the largest lists of fans of a particular whatever in the world; to unite the fans. For more info, check out tfl.org.

Fate opened on October 25, 2003. Why the name "fate"? Because, in the game and in the anime series, Arc lives up to his fate as the hero who has been chosen by the spirits to protect both Kukuru, the shrine maiden of the spirits, and the world from destruction by the Dark One. Why an Arc fanlisting? Because I just can't help loving him to pieces, he's simply awesome ^_^

There are essentially 3 "main" games (that include Arc): Arc the Lad I, Arc the Lad II and Arc the Lad III. Arc is (obviously) the main character in the first game, as you play through it as him. In the second game, the focus is more on Elk, as you play through as him, but Arc still plays a huge role in the story. Sadly, Arc isn't technically present for Arc the Lad III, but he does make an appearance and the story is based on the first two games.

The anime, aptly named "Arc the Lad", is based on the first two games. There's a little deversion from the actual events of the games (and an entirely new character or two), but the essential premises are the same and it is a very well done conversion, IMO.
