Born as Katsuda Shigekatsu, Kaga began acting at the age of seven and hasn't stopped since. From starring in stageplays, singing, and hosting quiz shows, Kaga is certainly a man of many talents. Many people know him (or have come to know him) simply as Chairman Kaga, the host of Iron Chef. His latest roles include Yagami Shoichiro in Death Note (2006) and its sequel, and Police Comissioner Shochikubai Tokimune in Yukan Club.

Kyo no Tema is the TFL recognized fanlisting for Kaga Takeshi. Translated as "Theme of Today", it is the phrase Chairman Kaga proclaims before revealing the ingredient of an Iron Chef match. It's been open since September 7th, 2004; currently featured is version 2.0.
