Suwabara Kai-
  Kai appears early on in Yakitate!! Japan as a fellow competitor in the Pantasia employment exam. He's able to make it to the final round, the theme of which happens to be something that Suwabara has excelled in in the past: croissants! However, despite his expertise in the area, his own creation is greatly blown away by Japan #43. Even though Suwabara passes the test and makes it to the Main Store, the anger over his loss remains. Luckily, his sword sensei comes to his assistance, despite knowing nothing of bread. Instead, Kai's master compares mastering baking as mastering the blade, which helps considerably. In fact, these helpful insights eventually lead to Kai's acquisition of a Solar Gauntlet Overcoat and the development of his own kind of "Japan" which relies on stolen techniques.
  Suwabara appears multiple times to use his newfound skills; after the Pantasia employment exam, he enters the Pantasia Newcomer's Battle and later enters the Monaco Cup as part of Team Japan. He treats Azuma as a friendly rival, and Kawachi as.... well, someone to mock and call "Baldy". Though seemingly fearless, Suwabara does have a few "hidden" weaknesses: a fear of girls and heights. XD

Samurai Heart-
  SH is the TAFL official fanlisting for Suwabara Kai. The name is actually taken from the title of a Ronin Warriors/Yoriden Samurai Troopers OP, but I figured the name fit Suwabara well. Since he is a samurai, in his heart. And in appearance. And attitude. So, yeah. SH has been open since April 28th, 2005.
