Katamari Damacy, the game

One trip through outer space while intoxicated, and the King of All Cosmos is able to wipe every star but the Sun out of the galaxy. Knowing full well this must be corrected, he places the game's tiny protaganist on Earth with the tall task of repairing the night sky. You play as the King's son, the Prince of All Cosmos. Your method of repairing the sky: collect as much matter as possible around an extremely adhesive 'katamari' and turn it over to your papa. Aside from an upbeat soundtrack and quirky humor, another selling point is merely the scope of the Prince's progress: for the first few levels, you need to grab erasers, rulers, and if you're lucky, small crabs to get a satisfactory size, but in the final stages, set your sights on structures and continents or you'll fall short of your goal. It's an idea that sounds nice and fun on paper, but an actual hands-on playtest will really show its true magic. Even with a well-rounded sequel, and with the series continuing on all the more, the original Katamari game shouldn't be one to be missed.
