Tanaka Yukio (nicknamed Koyuki) is your average high schooler until he meets Minami Ryusuke, a guitarist with a strange dog and a passion to create the best band in Japan. Koyuki then meets Ryusuke's sister, Maho, and though it's a rocky start, they hit it off and become fast friends. It's Maho who discovers that Koyuki has an amazing, unparalleled singing ability that just needs to be honed and tells her brother to include Koyuki in the band. Maho sticks up for Koyuki when negative things happen, and Koyuki in turn sticks up for Maho when she needs him. They sing together at a town festival, swim together under the full moon, hang out together, talk with each other. Maho gives Koyuki a guitar pick from Eddie Lee, a famous American guitarist and friend of the Minami siblings, and Koyuki treasures it, wearing it around his neck and even fighting over it. Koyuki feels so much for Maho that he asks to sing the song Ryusuke wrote about her, and thinks of her every time he does so. He gets jealous even seeing her with another guy who might prove competition. Maho, in turn, becomes jealous of Koyuki's childhood friend Izumi, who later gives up and leaves Maho and Koyuki to be together (and while sad for Izumi, it's the way I think it should be).

If I go any further I'll spoil non-manga readers, so I'll stop there... but it's enough evidence that there's something going on, don't you think? ^_~ Of course, to be a member of this fanlisting you just have to like any kind of relationship between the two- be it friendship or something more romantic. So if you're not a die-hard KxM shipper, no fears, still join away!

And why call the fanlisting Moon on the Water? Simple, it's the first song Koyuki and Maho sung together, and they've sung it so many times it's almost their 'theme song', if you will. Plus, the night they sang it in the pool is precious to both of them- as Koyuki says, "I have special memory" ^_~
