A treasure hunter, Zakk excavates ruins in search of what he calls 'absolute power'. His only partner is a wind-mouse named Hanpan (Heng-Peng in Japan). Zakk special move is 'fast draw', a sword technique similar to a gunslinger's quick draw. He's rather sarcastic and rude at times, but he has a sad and mysterious past behind it all.

Zakk's real name is Garrett Stampede. He used to be a Fenrir (Fenril) Knight in the kingdom of Arctica. "Vam Brace" was his title, in accordance with the custom that all knights were named after tools for battle (i.e. vambrace, sword, shield, etc). He was technically the only human to survive when the Metal Demons attacked Arctica Castle. He was romantically involved with Elmina (afterwards known as Lady Harken), and carried her ribbon which she gave him, waiting to give it back to her.
