Star Ocean: The Second Story
Star Ocean: The Second Story (released in Japan as Star Ocean: Second Story, and also known as Star Ocean 2 and SO2) is a wonderful RPG for Playstation. It's predecessor, the original Star Ocean, was made for Super Famicom and only released in Japan. A "sequel" to Star Ocean 2, Star Ocean: Blue Sphere was released for the Gameboy Color in Japan only. The third Star Ocean game, Star Ocean 3: Till The End of Time, has also been released in both Japan and the US.

SO2 follows the journey of a group of adventurers that keeps on growing as they go along. When it begins, you can choose to play as either Rena Lanford or Claude C. Kenni (the main heroine and hero, respectively). The other 'base' character joins you shortly. As the game progresses, you can choose who you want your team to be, but there are conditions; if you recruit some characters, you cannot recruit others (and depending on who you are playing as, you either get Dias or Leon). All in all, you can have 8 members in your party. Here's a full 'cast' list, if you will:

Perseverance
Perseverance is a Skill that you acquire in the game. Skills and Skill Sets are very important in SO2, and Perseverance is arguably the most important Skill you can learn. The group, as they progress through the game, meet many setbacks and have personal and social struggles along the way, but they manage to push on because they know that what they are doing is bigger than themselves. That's why I decided that Perseverance was a very fitting name for this fanlisting.
